Vantage

vantageVantage sits on the far-east corner of Kittitas County, along the Columbia River. It’s hugely popular with boating, waterskiing, and fishing enthusiasts. It’s also located near the Ginkgo Museum and the Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park. The museum features various forms of petrified wood, petroglyphs, videos, and live gingko trees. The park’s trail system takes hikers through a high-desert environment, past a prehistoric lakebed. Vantage is also near the Gorge Amphitheatre, a popular concert venue, as well as Cave B Winery in George, Washington.

If traveling to Vantage by way of the Old Vantage Highway, sixteen miles east of Ellensburg is Puget Sound Energy's Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility. This impressive facility is open to the public and provides free tours. The giant wind turbines generate up to 273 megawatts of electricity. Anyone can tour the area, plus the facility has a large, panoramic-view conference room that may be rented for business meetings or retreats.
